I am sharing below an article I posted on my website blog about the wonderful stay I had in Kathmandu particularly in Family Peace Guest House which I definitely recommend to everyone for several reasons-the location in central Kathmandu walking distance from temples and the popular shopping street in Thamel, affordability-a week stay is even less what you'd pay in a place in Europe and most especially the nephew and uncle team of Bimal and Hemraj Malla who have been the most wonderful hosts during my eight day sojourn in Nepal.  They have been helpful in recommending activities to do in the city as well as excursions in and around Kathmandu.

I shall definitely return to Nepal and stay in Family Peace as a week isn't nearly enough time to explore.  Perhaps during the summer season I'll do a short trek to the base camp; the Everest flight again to see the top of the world again minus the clouds; and even a week long excursion to Tibet or a shorted visit to Bhutan.

I will always remember and cherish memories of this beautiful country-not only the beautiful scenery but the hospality, graciousness and warmth of the Nepalese people-Bimal and Hem being no exception.  Check in was smooth despite a late arrival, laundry was fast and efficient, breakfast was delicious.  And everything is so very reasonably priced!  Definitely exceeded my expectation.  For the amount of money spent, service was several times more that what would be expected of a guest house.

A guest house experience I would recommend for single travellers who can interact with other guests - I made at four new Facebook friends from different parts of the world; for young and even more senior couples or groups of friends.  For those with mobility issues, it may pose a little bit of a problem but for everyone else, Family Peace is highly highly recommended.
